In the Light

A single tulip, bathed in light, unafraid to stand alone.

There is always one.

One that rises just a little differently.

One that doesn’t blend into the chorus.

One that doesn’t compete—yet cannot be ignored.

In a garden full of red, bold and certain,

a single yellow tulip stands forward…

not louder,

not bigger,

just… present.

And that presence changes everything.

Light finds it first.

Not because it asked.

Not because it forced its way forward.

But because it stood where it was planted—fully.

There is something deeply human in that.

We spend so much of our lives wondering if we should blend in,

soften ourselves,

or wait our turn to be seen.

But nature never asks permission.

That yellow tulip does not question its place among the red.

It does not shrink to match them.

It does not apologize for its color.

It simply opens.

And in opening, it becomes unforgettable.

Maybe that’s the lesson.

Not to outshine.

Not to outperform.

Not to outgrow everyone around us.

But to stand in our own light—

clearly, quietly, and without hesitation.

Because when we do,

we don’t take away from the beauty

around us…

we add to it.

Stand where you are. The light will find you.
